Nick Jonas
Concert Review: Nick Jonas at Loyola University Chicago
On March 16th, Nick Jonas came to Loyola University Chicago for their Annual Colossus concert. Students of the university packed into the basketball arena to see the singer perform a brief, but entertaining show. In only one hour, Nick Jonas was able to give a fully enchanting show that did not disappoint. A mix of his current hits and throwbacks to his Jonas Brothers era truly made for a fun Friday evening. The highlight of the concert was his engagement with the audience. The young singer has a real talent for making a connection with the fans. From giving young college students advice on life, to letting one of the audience members pick which song he performed, the pretentious attitude artists of his status can possess was nonexistent with Nick Jonas. He seemed happy to be performing for a small arena of college students, and that gave the concert a level of uniqueness not to be found elsewhere. Besides being 30 minutes late, causing an annoyance to many of the fans, Nick Jonas made up for his tardiness with the energy and talent expected of the artist. During one of his inspirational speeches, he told the Loyola students to be open to new experiences in life, because it can lead to beautiful and exciting things. This concert was an unexpected and exciting treat that blew past expectations. Because of this, I am giving the concert 4.5 out of 5 stars.
